About the role
We are seeking a scientifically-minded contributor to help define product strategy and coordinate project execution for an AI-driven genomics software initiative at GW.
This role sits at the intersection of science, product, and execution: translating research goals and customer needs into a prioritized roadmap, and keeping cross-functional efforts on track. This role begins as a volunteer position (~5-10 hours per week) and is intended to transition into a paid part-time position once commercialization milestones are achieved.
Responsibilities
- Translate scientific and customer requirements into product features and priorities
- Maintain the project roadmap and track milestones across the team
- Coordinate between research, engineering, and commercialization efforts
- Conduct landscape and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions
- Help define success metrics and document product requirements
Requirements
- Background in a quantitative or life-sciences field (genomics, bioinformatics, or related)
- Strong organizational and project-coordination skills
- Ability to communicate clearly across technical and non-technical audiences
- Interest in product strategy, startups, or scientific software
- Experience with product management or research project management is a plus
